The Kymi Palace Hotel
The 3rd EFCS annual tutorial will take place in the Kymi Palace Hotel, which is on the coast to the west of the town of Kimi, and overlooks the sea where there are several quiet beaches for swimming and underwater fishing.
Kimi is the birthplace of George Papanicolaou and there will be an opportunity to visit his village and house during the tutorial. Kimi is on the island Evia (Euboea) 90km (2-hour drive) from Chalkida. There are ferry boats from Kimi to and from Volos, Alonissos, Skopelos, Skyros, Kavala, Skiathos and Limnos.
Evia (Euboea) is the second largest Greek island (the largest is Crete). It’s capital is Chalkida, which is 82km from Athens (about a 1-hour drive) and connected to the mainland by an iron bridge. The organizing committee will provide a transit bus from El. Venizelos Airport, Athens to Kimi on Sunday at approximately 16.00. Delegates should arrange to book early flights to allow time for the journey. There will also be a transit bus on Friday afternoon and delegates should book evening flights unless they wish to stay longer. Local organisers: Charikleia Margari, Eirini Anagnostopoulou and Maria Nasioutziki

The 3rd EFCS Annual Tutorial
The tutorial will be residential and will provide a basic introduction in cytological diagnosis as well as some advanced topics and diagnostic techniques. In this tutorial there will be sessions on endoscopic and endobronchial ultrasound-guided FNA and all lecturers will emphasis ancillary tests and immunocytochemistry in their presentations and workshops. Printed handouts will be available for all the workshops, which will be based on glass microscope slides. A CD ROM of the lectures will be available at the end of the tutorial. Attendance certificates will be provided and the course will be eligible for continuing medical and professional education points. The participants should be pathologists (cytopathologists or histopathologists), biomedical scientists, cytotechnologists or have other relevant background and work in the field of diagnostic cytopathology either as a full professional or as a trainee.
