TIR 4. PROBABLY MALIGNANT

It  represents an heterogeneous group of lesions. Are included in this category samples without a sufficient amount of  malignant cells or without cytological atypias sufficient for a diagnosis of cancer. This category almost always includes suspecous papillary carcinomas and accounts for about 5% of the cytological diagnoses.
Operative suggestion. FNC repetition, according to the clinician’s or the cytopathologist’s opinion. Surgery with intraoperative histological examination is recommended.
